IGCSE English will widen your vocabulary and improve your punctuation and spelling as well as your grasp of grammar. You will work with literary and non-literary material as well as contemporary media. You will learn how to use written English in everything from creative writing to structuring reports.
This course is ideal if you want to study English at A Level, perhaps even with a view to higher education.
English course overview
Upon successful completion of the exam and practical assessments (as administered by Edexcel), you will have achieved an internationally recognised Edexcel IGCSE English (4EBO) qualification.
- Reading a wide range of material including everything from literary material to current media.
- Appreciating the English language and using it for learning and enjoyment.
- Use English to develop narrative, creative writing, making reports and developing a critical view of the quality of written expression.

Written examination: 2 hours (100 marks)

The Edexcel IGCSE English qualification is gained once the exam paper is successfully completed. These exams are administered by Edexcel and assessment centre details will be included with your course, as well as practice papers so that you are more than prepared for your assessments.
In addition, there will be a number of tutor marked assessments (TMAs) to ensure that you have a thorough understanding of the course materials, with the tutor sending comments to guide you through any areas of potential difficulty, as well as a range of self-assessments that are indicators that you understand the materials as you work through them. These are for your own information, and do not need to be shown to your course tutor.

If the course you have bought is delivered online you will receive your login details by 2pm the next working day along with the session time table.
Paper BasedIf the course you have bought is paper based it will be despatched the next working day. You will receive a tracking email and a text with a 1 hour delivery slot.
